Non-profit organization KDE E.V., which oversees the development of the KDE project, published a report for 2024, in which, in addition to information about projects, events and conferences, financial indicators have been disclosed. The organization for 2024 spent 470 thousand euros (in 2023 – 457 thousand euros), and received 641 thousand euros (in 2023 – 349 thousand euros).
The largest amount of funds, 467.8 thousand euros (in 2023 181 thousand), received due to the donations and contributions of members of the organization. In second place, 67 thousand euros (in 2023 80 thousand), financial assistance from corporations and participants-patrons, including Blue Systems, Canonical, G10 Code, Google, Kubuntu Focus, Slimbook, Suse, Qt Company and Tuxedodo Computers. 47.9 thousand euros (in 2023 66 thousand) amounted to income from the Akademy conference and other events.
The costs were distributed as follows:
- 331 thousand euros (in 2023 – 317 thousand) – payment of labor and developers;
- 45 thousand euros (43 thousand) – the costs of the conference Akademy;
- 25.9 thousand euros (22 thousand) – taxes and fees;
- 8 thousand euros (20 thousand) – costs for other events;
- 21.7 thousand euros (18 thousand) – infrastructure costs;
- 23 thousand euros (15 thousand) – other expenses;
- 7.4 thousand euros (13 thousand) – costs for sprints;
- 7.3 thousand euros (7 thousand) – office content.
