ProquethandyBox Rolls Out for PC, Laptop Testing

The PockethandyBox team has published release of the distribution PockethandyBox 0007 . This distribution, built on the DEBIAN (and DVUAN) package base, is designed for testing and servicing PCs and laptops. Users can use the distribution to check the operation of their equipment, load the processor and the video card, evaluate the temperature, check S.M.A.R.T. HDD and NVMe SSD. Popular applications such as CPU-X, GSMARTCONTROL, GPARTED, PARTIMAGE, PARTCLONE, TESTDISK, DDRESCE, and WhDD are included in the composition. The user environment is built on the XFCE platform. PockethandyBox offers versions based on Debian 12 “Bookworm” (Devuan “Daedalus”) and Debian 13 “Trixie” (Devuan “Excalibur”).




The Linux version 6.12 and 5.10 are available for x86_64, while 6.1 is available for i686. Openzfs modules are collected for X86_64 nuclei. Additionally, the core 5.10 is assembled with a patch intel-nvme-remap from Endlessos to provide access to NVMe SSD when setting up “Intel RST PREMIUM WITH OPTANE” on Intel Core i3/i5/i7 6-10 generations. The BCMWLOAD script is included for using the Broadcom WL driver for WiFi adapters 802.11n that do not work with free drivers.
