A project called fpdoom has been developed to allow users to play classic Doom, its additions, and other ported games on inexpensive button phones using the Spreadtrum SC6531 chip and its variations. Despite the chipset being more than a decade old, there are still phones being produced with it. Currently, there are 62 tested phones on the compatibility list, including those with monochrome screens and resolutions as low as 64×48 pixels.
