Angie 1.10.0 Released: Nginx Fork Update

Webserver LLC has announced the release of a high-performance HTTP server and multi-purpose proxy server called Angie 1.10.0.0, which is a branch from the popular Nginx. This project was initiated by a group of former developers who resigned from F5 Network. The initial texts of Angie can be accessed under the BSD license. Angie has received compatibility certificates with Russian operating systems Red OS, Astra Linux Special Edition, dew that chrome server, alt and FSTEK version of alt.

The development of this web server, which began in the fall of 2022 and received a $1 million investment, is currently in progress. Co-owners of the company include Valentin Bartenev (leader of the Nginx Unit team), Ivan Poluyanov (former head of front-end developers at Rambler and Mail.ru), Oleg Mamontov (head of NGINX Inc technical support team), and Ruslan Ermilov ([email protected]).

Changes in Angie 1.10.0:

  • Added directive docker_endpoint for configuring automatic obtaining and dynamic updating of groups of proxy servers based on a list of containers obtained through an API Docker or Podman. This new feature allows real-time tracking of container launches and stops, enabling the addition or removal of their IP addresses from the Upstream list without configuration reloading.
  • Support for automatic acquisition of TLS certificates for the ACME protocol (used in Let’s Encrypt) has been added to the Stream module. Configuration in the acme directive requires the use
