Comaps Launches 2025.06.30, Fork of Organic Maps

Project comaps has developed a fork of organic maps for offline navigation using cartographic data from Openstreetmap. The latest release, 2025.06.30, has been published and ready-made assemblies are available in catalogs such as f-droid, Google Play, and Apple App Store. For the Android platform, releases are also available for direct download in APK format from Codeberg. The project code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.

The development of Fork follows principles of openness, transparency, and collaboration. The project focuses on conducting non-profit activities, being accountable to the community, and satisfying the interests of the community. Key principles include working in offline mode, ensuring confidentiality, effective energy consumption, compact size, and being free from advertising.

The main changes in comaps 2025.06.30-22 include:

  • Automatic backup of marks and tracks for Android.
  • Addition of contour lines of heights with a step of 100m for regions previously lacking these lines.
  • Update of OpenStreetmap cartographic data to the state of June 22.
  • Updated icons for bus stops, tram, railway stations, and metro stations.
