VirtualBox 7.2 Beta 2 Released

Oracle has recently announced the publication of the second beta-release of Virtualbox 7.2, a virtualization system anticipated to be released in the summer. The assembly of the second beta version of Virtualbox 7.2 is geared towards systems such as Rhel 8/9/10, Fedora 36/40, Opensuse 15.6, Ubuntu 20.04/22.04/24.04/24.10, Debian 11/12, MacOS, and Windows. The project code, written in C ++, is distributed under the license gplv2+.

Key changes compared to the first beta version include:

  • Improvements to the output of CPU X86_64 and ARM capabilities on systems utilizing Windows Hyper-V for virtualization, with enhancements in the virtual machine manager. Addition of processing of Xsave/Xrestor instructions and expansion of X86_64-V3 command set.
  • Establishment of capabilities for invested virtualization on CPU Intel.
  • Enhancements in the graphic interface with improved settings pages and control of LED indicators on the keyboard.
  • Enhancements in the operation of the address translator, virtual machine settings conservation, and work with DNS servers.
  • Linux nucleus support 6.16 in additions for host and guest systems with Linux.
  • Addition of WDDM graphics driver for guest systems with Windows using the ARM platform and support for Shared Folders.
