The release of the package Sane-Backends 1.3.1 has been published . This package includes a collection of drivers, the Scanimage command line tool, background SANED for network organization, and a library with Sane-API implementation. The project code is released under the GPLV2 license. The release of version 1.3.0 was delayed due to issues in the assembly infrastructure.
The package supports 1804 scanners (last version supported 1747), out of which 825 (815) have full support for all functions, 825 (780) have good support, 130 (129) have acceptable support, and 24 (23) have minimal support. Furthermore, for 499 (464) devices, the driver implementation has not been completely tested, and support for 478 (470) scanners is yet to be realized.
