RECORD TEMPERATURES REACHED IN COMPACT THERMONUCLEAR REACTOR

BLACTION OF Energy, a company working in the field of thermonuclear synthesis, has achieved significant success in the development of its unique technology, known as Z-pins stabilized with a shift stream. This method made it possible to create plasma with an electron temperature of more than 10 million degrees Celsius, which is comparable to temperature in the center of the Sun. Research, published in the journal Physical Review letters confirmed that the plasma temperature reaches 11-37 million degrees Celsius.

The main task in creating thermonuclear energy is to obtain a greater amount of energy from the reaction, which is required to start it. Zap Energy technology uses a simple plasma retention scheme using large electric currents passing through the thin layer of plasma plasma. For the first time, this method began to be investigated back in the 1950s, but so far the short-term life of the plasma’s life remained a problem. This problem was solved thanks to the new process – the dynamic stream through the plasma.

The innovative approach of Zap Energy made it possible to significantly simplify and reduce the cost of obtaining thermonuclear neutrons, which makes it more affordable and practical compared to other methods. In 2022, the company began work on the next generation of its Fuze-Q device, which has ten times more energy power compared to the previous model and is able to reach even higher temperatures and density.

Zap Energy achievements have been highly appreciated in the scientific community and confirm the potential of commercial use of thermonuclear energy in the near future.
