VPN Lanemu 0.11.6 Released

In a recent release, the Lanemu P2P VPN 0.11.6 was launched, introducing a decentralized virtual private network based on the PEER-to-PEER principle. Unlike traditional VPNs, this network allows participants to connect directly to each other rather than through a central server. Users can discover each other using a Bittorrent tracker, Bittorrent DHT, or other network participants through Peer Exchange. This application serves as a free and open alternative to VPN hamachi, written in Java with components in SI and released under the GNU LGPL 3.0 license.

The latest version, 0.11.6, includes several changes and improvements, building upon the previous version 0.11.5:

  • Initial support for launching the application on FreeBSD, with the possibility of requiring core collection and experimental patches.
  • Ability to utilize newer TAP-drivers like “Windows Tap Adapter V9,” requiring activation through a specific option in Windows.
  • Enhancements to the Library of Native Trei for Linux/FreeBSD.
  • Increase in default sending buffer size from 10 to 100 packages.
  • Improvement in the invitation code to the file.
  • Implementation of MakerOot_bin environment for specifying the privilege escalation tool (e.g., Sudo or PKEXEC).
  • Enhancements in the Handlepeers code for DHT and other improvements to DHT implementation.
  • Fix for an error in the Connector class, preventing repeated connection attempts every 5 minutes.
  • Update of the Waifupnp library to the corrected version, applying a specific patch.
