New victory for Gabriel Attal. The 33-year-old young minister confirmed the advance obtained in the first round to be elected again, Sunday, June 19, deputy for the 10th district of Hauts-de-Seine. In total, he counted 62.8 % of the votes, and thus is ahead of his opponent of the Nuts, Cécile Soubelet, eliminated with 37.2 % of the votes cast.

In this constituency, where President Emmanuel Macron won 38.8 % of the votes in the first round of the presidential election (and almost 82 % of the votes in the second), the delegate minister, outgoing deputy, was not in difficulty. In 2017, Mr. Attal was elected with 61 % votes in the second round.

Despite his young age, Mr. Attal has an already full political journey. Former socialist activist convinced by Ségolène Royal in 2007, he began his political career in 2011 – at the age of 22 – when he campaigned for François Hollande as an assistant of Marisol Touraine. After the victory of the former first secretary of the Socialist Party in the presidential election, he joined the cabinet of M Me touraine, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, as parliamentary attaché.

A dazzling ascent within Macronie

Elected deputy in this same district of Hauts-de-Seine in spring 2017, he was increasingly comfortable on the television sets, until obtaining the position of spokesperson for the Republic in Marche, in 2018. He then became the freezer at the high verb of the presidential majority. He evokes the “Grevulture” of students and striking railway workers in 2018 or, more recently, denounces the “fiscal guillotine” by Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

A true Macronie personality, he is promoted to Bercy as Minister of Public Accounts, a post traditionally attributed to young wolves in the government. He was notably occupied by Laurent Fabius, Nicolas Sarkozy or Valérie Pécresse, from ambitious to various fortunes. His comfortable victory obtained on Sunday will allow him to keep his post in the government and thus continue on his trajectory.
