Published Release of a decentralized program messaging Speek 1.6 , aimed at providing maximum confidentiality, anonymity and tracking protection. The user IDs in Speek are based on the use of public keys and are not attributed to the phone numbers or addresses electronic almost. The infrastructure does not apply centralized servers and all data exchange is made only in P2P mode through the installation of direct connections between users over the TOR network. The code of the project is written in C ++ using the qt and applies under the BSD license. Assembly are formed for Linux (Appimage), macos and Windows .
The main idea of the project in use Anonymous Tor network for data exchange. For each user, a separate hidden TOR service is created, the identifier of which is used to determine the subscriber (the user login coincides with the onion address of the hidden service). The use of TOR allows you to provide user anonymity and protect its IP address and location from disclosure. To protect the correspondence from intercepting and analyzing, in case of receipt of access to the user system, open key encryption is used and deleting all messages after the session is completed, without leaving traces as after ordinary live communication. Metadata and text messages on disk are not saved.
Before you begin to communicate, the keys are exchanged and add a user and its open key to the address book. You can add another user only after sending a request for communication and receipt of the consent to receive messages. After starting, the application creates its own hidden service and checks the availability of hidden services for users from the address book if their hidden services run users are marked as located in online.
