City of Paris fears sale of Bataclan door and claims its restitution

A litigation opposes the city of Paris and the owners of the Bataclan building, on the sidelines of the judicial file relating to the theft of the Porte de Banksy. The City wishes to devote the work of art to the memory of the victims of the attack.

This is the business in the case. Stolen, found in Italy, the Porte du Bataclan is now the subject of a bitter legal litigation. Eight men aged 31 to 58 are dismissed on June 8 before the Paris Criminal Court for “theft and concealment in a meeting”, suspected of having participated in the flight, transport or transfer of the precious object in Italy, for reasons which have not been completely lightened. From the opening of the judicial investigation, two civil parties were formed in the criminal file, considering having suffered the prejudice of the flight of the Porte du Bataclan.
