Video at a training center in the city of Odessa, in the South Ukrainian, young couples learn to handle weapons and to provide first aid care. Their objective: to engage in the civil defense force to be ready to fight if the Russians attack their city.
There are still a few weeks ago, Olga and Maxim or Maria and Murar led a peaceful couple life. But with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, they decided to take up arms.
Before committing, these partners have made the choice to form. It is in Odessa, in a specialized center, they train. Maniating weapons, field trips, physical and psychological preparation, first aid … The workshops are numerous and intended for couples. “Everyone should know how to fight, provide medical assistance to help his relatives or other people,” said Olga Moroz, a 26-year-old graphic designer, formed at the civilian defense alongside his boyfriend, Maxim Yavtoushenko, sales manager 32 years old.
This establishment welcomes between seventy and one hundred and fifty people a day to teach them how to defend itself and survive in the event of a Russian attack in Odessa.
