Russia will not deviate from safety warranty approaches in Europe declared before negotiations with the United States in Geneva. This was stated by the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov, reports RIA Novosti.
Diplomat called Washington to prepare for compromises on security issues. “The Russian side came here with a clear position, which contains a number of elements, in my opinion, completely understandable and formulated,” he stressed. According to Ryabkova, Moscow will not retreat from the specified position.
Previously, NATO Jens Stoltenberg declared the impossibility of solving all existing problems in the course of negotiations with Russia in Geneva on security guarantees. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the parties could conduct a productive dialogue, but did not exclude confrontation.
