Tokayev replaced two deputies of head of National Security Committee

President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev changed two deputies to the Chairman of the National Security Committee. It is reported by Telegram-channel “Sputnik-Kazakhstan”.

Resigns sent Marat Osipov and Daulet Ergogin. At their sites, Tokayev appointed Bakytbek Koshenova and Askar Amerkhanov.

On Saturday, January 8, it became known about the detain of the former head of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov. The authorities of the republic explained that the Masimov and other persons began a pre-trial investigation on the fact of state treason on January 6. Other information in the interests of the investigation is not subject to disclosure.

January 2 in Kazakhstan began protests due to the increase in gas prices for cars. Soon, economic demands were replaced by political protesters demanded the resignation of the government. On January 5, rallies have grown into bulk unrest: stores, banks, captured by the airport building, police sites, government agencies and infrastructure facilities were plundered in Alma-Ata.
