President of Kazakhstan instructed to speed up work on creation of forces of special operations

President Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev instructed the Secretary of the Security Council to accelerate the work on creating special operations. This was reported in the press service of the head of the republic, writes RIA Novosti.

Tokayev reported on the progress of the pre-trial investigation of the events that occurred in the regions in the first half of January, as well as the other measures to ensure public security and law enforcement in the republic.

President noted the importance of preventing violation of the rights of residents as a result of an antiterrorist operation and investigative actions. It is specified that the first leaders of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the National Security Committee, Ministry of Defense and Interior, and the Guidelines of the Administration of the Head of the Republic and the Security Council, the Security Council administration, participated.

Earlier it became known that the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev freed the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Azamat Abdyimomunov. This position Abdyimomunov occupied in 2015. For this post, he was appointed the first president of the Republic of Nursultan Nazarbayev.

January 2, the protests began in Kazakhstan due to increased gas prices for cars from 60 to 120 tenge. In addition to economic requirements, participants in the shares put forward political, including the departure of the ex-president of Nazarbayev from politics. On January 5, the current head of Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev sent Nazarbayev to resign from the post of the head of the Security Council and himself took this position.
