On Baikonur, unloading “Soyuz-2” missile under launch of “Progress MS-19” ship

On the Baikonur cosmodrome, work began on preparing for the launch of the “Soyuz-2.1a” missile for the launch program “Progress MS-19”. Today, January 17, 2022, in the installation and test building site No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, the unloading of the missile blocks was completed, and their external inspection is currently being carried out.

The next stage of work is the docking of compartments 1a and 2a of the central unit, checking the tightness of the motor settings of the carrier rocket blocks. All technological operations are performed by specialists of the South Space Center (branch of the center of exploitation of the objects of ground space infrastructure) and the Progress Rocket and Space Center (including Roscosmos State Corporation).

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier missile with transport freight ship “Progress MS-19” is scheduled in February from the starting complex “East” Baikonur cosmodrome.
