Naryshkin explained Washington’s attempts to discredit Beijing Olympiad

US State Department is attempted to discredit the Olympics in Beijing, which is contrary to the spirit of the Olympic Movement. This was stated by the director of the foreign intelligence service (CVR) of Russia Sergey Naryshkin, reports TASS.

Naryshkin said that CVR has data on the expanded Washington and its allies of a large-scale information campaign on intervention in the process of preparing the Beijing Olympiad.

“We see their attempts to discredit the organizers of the Olympic Games in Beijing. The State Department of the United States of America plays the main role in these actions, which coordinates all the anti-kili activities in the Olympic theme of the non-governmental organizations and media,” said the director of CVR.

The head of the intelligence reminded that the US State Department used the same methods on the eve of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. “To admit, we do not see anything new in this practice,” added Naryshkin.

The director stressed that the idea of the diplomatic boycott of the Olympiad in Beijing is inherently meaningless and completely contradicts the spirit of the Olympic movement and the motto “Sport out policies.”

On January 17, the spokesman for Russian President Dmitry Peskov spoke about preparing for Vladimir Putin’s visit to China for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. He noted that the trip will depend on the epidemiological situation.

Earlier, the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang also stated that “While China and Russia, together, international order will not be broken.” The diplomat believes that relations between countries are a model for the whole world, especially in the fight against Pandemic COVID-19.
