Afghana sold daughters and kidney for food for family

A resident of Afghanistan, who left the native home in the province of Badgis because of drought and crawling, sold two daughters and kidney to feed sick sons and her husband. About it reports The Guardian.

Delaras along with eight children and her husband moved to Herat Province four years ago. Now they live in the dugout with a plastic roof in the slums of the city. There is no work, while Afghan has to pay for two sons, one of which is paralyzed, and the other suffers from mental illness, for her husband’s medicines and food for the whole family. A 50-year-old woman said that several months ago sold her daughters six and eight years old on 100 thousand Afghans each (about 75 thousand rubles) unfamiliar families. They will remain with the mother until they reach puberty, and then they will be transferred to someone else’s people.

Sale of the future of her daughters was not the only solution that had to take a woman. She appealed to the local hospital to carry out a kidney removal operation. Now in Afghanistan, it is possible to get about 1,500 dollars.

With the arrival of the “Taliban” (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia) the price and conditions under which illegal trade in the bodies have changed. The price of the kidney, which once ranged from 3500 to 4000 dollars, fell to less than 1,500 dollars. But the number of volunteers continues to grow.

It is estimated to be the head of the delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Afghanistan Mgey, about 55 percent of the population of the country (23 million people) are experiencing an acute food shortage. Strong drought raised more than 60 percent of the provinces of Afghanistan, while not a single region, which would not suffer at all. Mgey called the situation in the country “the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world at the moment.”
