Northern fleet began teachings in Barents Sea

The forces of the Northern Fleet of Russia began to perform practical actions in the Barents Sea and on coastal polygons as part of exercises with the Arctic Expeditionary Group. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the fleet.

Teachings are held under the leadership of the Commander of the Fleet by Admiral Alexander Moiseeva and are held in accordance with the plan for the preparation of the Armed Forces of Russia for 2022. They will be attended by 1.2 thousand military personnel, about 140 units of combat and special equipment, 20 aircraft, 30 ships, submarines and security ships.

In the course of the exercise, the level of training of military management bodies of the fleet will be assessed in the planning and conduct of actions to resolve crisis situations in the Arctic Oceansky district and management of forces and troops in the framework of solving problems of ensuring military security and marine economic activity.

Earlier in the Ministry of Defense, they said that additional divisions will appear as part of the coastal rocket and artillery troops. Currently, there are about eight divisions of the “Ball” complex. It is planned that in a short time their re-equipment for new rockets will begin. The first to equip the brigades of the Northern and Black Sea fleets.
