Trump returned popularity among Americans

Former US Leader Donald Trump dominates the list of Republican candidates who could run for the presidential elections in 2024. This is reported to the Hill newspaper with reference to the Harvard / Harris research service survey.

According to a survey, in which 1815 people participated, the majority (57 percent) republican voters support Trump. He was ahead of the main rivals – the ex-associate and the former vice-president of Mike Pensa and the governor of Florida Ron Desantis, on their side 12 and 11 percent, respectively. Thus, Trump returned its popularity among Americans.

The results of the survey emphasize the rating and influence of the Trump on the electorate of the Republican Party. Despite the fact that he has not yet accepted a public decision to run at the presidential elections in 2024, Trump began to increase political activities on the eve of intermediate elections in November 2022 in the US Congress. Thus, he finds a response from those who do not support the current president Joe Bayden.

If the Trump does not participate in the presidential race of 2024, then the support of his rivals of landis and pence will grow to 30 and 24 percent. Part of the electorate will also support the Senator from the state of Texas Ted Cruz, which can count on supporting 14 percent of the votes of the Republicans.

The current President of Joe Biden, who has already declared the participation in the elections, at the moment has 32 percent of the support of the democratic electorate, its nearest rivals – Senator from the state of Vermont Bernie Sanders and the former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. They are supported by 11 percent of the voters of the Democratic Party.

“Trump [If it is to participate in the elections] starts with a rather strong position in the republican party, while Biden and Harris enjoy a surprisingly weak for the existing support leaders from the Democrats,” said the head of Harvard / Harris Mark Penn.

Previously, Morning Consult presented a study according to which Biden became one of the most unpopular presidents of the country in the entire history of the United States. Reducing the level of confidence occurred against the background of growth of unemployment, inflation and poor state of the national health system during the COVID-19 pandemic.
