“is currently being manufactured by the second spacecraft, it will be launched in 2023. The minimum required composition of the Arctic-M group is two devices, but in order to work comfortably in the Northern region, I would like to have four devices. This will increase the frequency of observation of the entire polar region from 15 to 7.5 minutes, which is important for hydrometeorologists, “said Mikhail Hailov.

According to him, Roscosmos works on ensuring the order at least four Arctic-M satellites, and in the future it is planned to create the devices of the new generation “Arctic-MP”. Mikhail Haylov also announced the plans of the launches of three radar apparatuses of observation of the Earth: in 2022 – “Condor-FKA” No. 1, in 2023 – “Overview-R” and “Condor FKA” No. 2.

“These three satellites will ensure the full coverage of the northern sea route in 14 hours with a resolution of 12 to 40 m, which is necessary for posting vessels,” he added.
