Rosneft and the Italian company Maire Tecnimont signed a contract for the construction of a hydrocracking complex of vacuum gas oil. The project will be implemented at the Production Play of the Ryazan Oil Refinery. This was reported in the press service “Rosneft”.
A new complex with a capacity of 2.2 million tons per year will allow the refining plant to improve the depth and marginalization of processing thanks to the technology of the conversion of dark petroleum products into light commodity oil products: gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel. The complex will include hydrocracking installations, hydrogen production and elementary sulfur.
The construction project provides for the use of modern technologies and installation of equipment with an automated control system. This will increase the carbon efficiency of the new complex. It is reported that the equipment will have high environmental characteristics.
The contract with Maire Tecnimont was signed to continue agreement on intentions, which parties concluded within the framework of the XIV Eurasian Economic Forum. The project involves the fulfillment of the full range of works: design, delivery of materials and equipment, construction, commissioning and project finance services.
As reported in the press service, Rosneft implements the program to modernize its refineries. Since the beginning of the project launch, more than 900 billion rubles were invested.
Recall that the company cooperates with other Italian enterprises. Thus, the strategic partner of Rosneft is ENI, together with which the Russian company is involved in the development of the largest Gas field of Egypt SCR, launched in December 2017. In January 2022, the average daily production at the field was about 75 million cubic meters.
ENI and Rosneft perform in tandem and as shareholders of major European oil refineries Bayernoil and PCK. The first plant provides fuel of Bavaria and the Northern part of Austria, and the geographical location of the second plant in the city of Swedet allows you to deliver Urals oil on the Friendship pipeline. According to the press service, RSK is one of the most complex technological plants in the oil refining industry in Germany with Nelson Index 9.8.
In 2016, the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo took part in an integral privatization deal, as a result of which part of the state-owned shares of Rosneft acquired a consortium of international investors.
Rosneft is an active participant in the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona, where the trends of the Eurasian economy are discussed. In October 2021, the company concluded a number of agreements on the forum fields, including with Italian suppliers. Agreements are aimed at the development of the project “East Oil”, which is implemented in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
