Gilbert Collard, remote lawyer from left to far right

The European member of the national gathering has left the Pean Party to announce, Saturday, its rallying to Eric Zemmour.

Gilbert Collard is certainly the biggest political taking of Eric Zemmour, or the best known, after almost fifty years to walk the trays of TV. The former lawyer, who will be 73 years in a few days, certainly had his hour of glory: civil part in the Ranucci case in 1976, he forbids to claim the death penalty and is “admirable of generosity and talent” “Writes Gilles Perrault in the red sweater (FAYARD). And the young Marseille lawyer, who passed his phone calls in a bar, fault of cabinet, soon became very requested.

He soon crumbles under files that he has neither the time nor the desire to work, and served by an undeniable oratory talent, prefers to give teleminerary opinions to TV rather than peeling the Penal Code. He was the lawyer of Pierrette Le Pen against Jean-Marie, Charles Pasqua, Richard Virenque, General Aussy, Brigitte Bardot … and declared to win nearly 33,000 euros a month in 2012.

Collard Slides regularly on the right

His glory has been a little returned during the profanation of the Carpentras Jewish Cemetery in 1990, when he wrapping an envelope (empty) supposed to contain the names of the culprits, sons of local notables. He was already seeing “the little Zola de Carpentras”: he appeared six years later that the officials were young neonazis.

Young lawyer on the left, he has, with age, slipped regularly on the right: vaguely Trotskyist, then Rocardien, he leaves the Socialist Party in 1992, supports a candidate of the rally for the Republic (RPR) in the Bouches -DU-Rhône. Centrist and unfortunate candidate at Vichy City Hall in 2001 and 2008, he gets slowly closer to the National Front through Louis Aliot, today Mayor National Gathering (RN) of Perpignan.

In 2011, the lawyer jumps the step, presides over the support committee of Marine Le Pen and proclaims “marineist” – without ever joining the party. Member of the Gard in 2012, then to the European Parliament where he rarely puts his feet, he had annoyed himself not to have an invitation for his daughters at the Congress of Perpignan in July 2020, and thus had shot. Gilbert Collarr was no longer doing in the RN, where we followed his fantasque statements and his friendship with Marion Marshal with a little worry – and without being really surprised by his slip to that other polemicist Eric Zemmour.
