US launched “similar to Russian” satellites

US Defense with a cosmodrome on the Cape Canaveral in Florida on the Atlas V rocket launched a pair of geosynchronous orbit a couple of Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program Space Spaceal Awareness (GSSAP), capable of maneuvering in space and monitor the status of other satellites, writes The Drive.

An example of spacecraft with such capabilities in the American edition was called Russian inspectors, repeatedly criticized by Washington. “The few public descriptions of GSSAP satellites and their capabilities suggest that they are similar to highly shared inspectors, who have followed American satellites for many years,” the publication says.

The publication assumes that the running spacecraft GSSAP-5 and GSSAP-6 are intended, in particular, for exploration, since, for example, they are able to make large-scale images of other satellites.

In December 2021, TASS, referring to the data of the command of the air-space defense of North America, said that the Russian spacecraft “Space-2519”, from which the satellite-inspector was disconnected in 2017 in 2017.

In September of the same year, the head of the US Space Command General John Raymond said that there is a Russian satellite-satellite, capable of destroying American spacecraft in an near-earth orbit.

In January 2020, The Drive reported that the Russian military satellite-2542 inspector approached the USA-245 American spy satellite. The first spacecraft synchronized its orbit with the second and is located about 150-300 kilometers away from it.
