At the end of 2021, Proton-PM (enters the integrated NGO structure Energomash State Corporation Roskosmos) concluded an agreement with NGO Energomash for the supply of five prototypes of the engine RD-191m. Products are designed for carrying out the design tests of the rocket carrier of the heavy class “Angara-A5” on the cosmodrome East.
Its creation is carried out within the framework of the development work “Amur”. For the development of the RD-191m, the company began at the beginning of the 2021 after the conclusion of the contract for the supply of three engines for ground testing.
Igor Arbuzov, General Director of NGO Energomash: “Already in 2022, Energomash’s NGOs are planned with fire tests of the first copy of the RD-191m engine. This suggests that today the most effective cooperation for the creation of PD- 191m, which made it possible to reduce the terms and cost of development and production of this missile engine. ”
Recall that Proton-PM is fixed as a serial manufacturer of the first stage of the rocket carrier for the Angara Space Rocket Complex. The customer is NGO Energomash – the developer of the RD-191 and RD-191M, forced by 10% in the version of the version. The creation on the basis of the Perm enterprise ISDD production of the engine for the rocket “hangar” and other promising liquid rocket engines has the status of a priority regional investment project and is implemented in accordance with the agreement between the state corporation Roscosmos and the Perm Territory.
