Huawei representatives confirmed that the company is not going to create and produce its own car. This is reported by the Edition Huawei Central.
On January 20, the Chief Operational Director of Huawei Wang Jun spoke at the Intelligent Driving Carbon New conference, where he stated that the corporation would not claim to issue his own car. According to Jusun, the company refuses to enter the market with its full-fledged product, but will continue to support other automakers. Huawei intends to create components and various IT solutions for smart cars.
Also, the top manager of the company noted that Huawei already cooperates with car manufacturers from China – for example, Baic, Changan and Gac brands. However, the work in this direction takes a lot of resources, so Huawei does not expect a large number of customers in the automotive industry.
Director Baic Liu Yu confirmed that Huawei helps in developing software brand. Yu said that at present it is not very difficult to enter the car market with its product – for example, an electrocarrier with a stroke of 600-700 kilometers. This helps the developing infrastructure of electrical stations in China. According to forecasts, if the shortage of components does not exacerbate in 2022, the sales of electric vehicles will exceed six million units in 2022.
In April, Huawei explained the reluctance to produce high-competition cars in the industry. After long negotiations, the company came to the decision that they would only be engaged in the production of smart components for cars, as well as the launch and support of special software.
