MediaTek predicted the appearance of 6G communication in 2030. This is reported by the publication Phonearena.
Specialists of the Taiwanese company engaged in the development of semiconductor equipment, told in the report that the development of a sixth generation communication standard will begin in 2024-2025. The standard specifications should appear in 2027, the introduction of 6G is approximately 2030.
Also, the company’s specialists called key features and described the benefits of 6G. According to them, “kill applications” will appear on the market, which will provide holographic and tactile communications, as well as virtual twins. 6G will maintain speed from one gigabit per second to one terabita per second. For example, at such a speed in one second, you can download 12 films in 4K resolution.
6G will provide intelligent communication with user experience all over the world. Hyperopotimized 6G communication system will provide a truly user-oriented immersive and energy-efficient communication, “said Deputy General Director of MediaTek Mincy Fan (Mingxi Fan).
In the summer, specialists of the Radio Research Institute (NIR) and the Skolkovsky Institute of Science and Technologies stated that 6G may appear in Russia by 2035. 6G, unlike previous generations, will be controlled by artificial intelligence.
