Parliament of Kazakhstan urged citizens to unite around president

Speaker of the upper chamber of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev called on citizens of the country to unite around President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayeva. This is stated in a statement published on the site of the Upper Chamber of Kazakhstan Parliament.

Politician expressed concern about the latest events in the country and accused provocateurs in destabilization of the situation: according to him, they hinder the work of physicians, commit armed attacks on security forces and robbage shops. Senate speaker called such actions “terrorist acts directed against state bodies and citizens.”

“Kazakhstanians are important to unite around the president of the country to protect our independence and statehood. You can not succumb to provocations,” Ashimbaev said.

Earlier, Tokayev appealed to the CSTO for help because of the riots started in the country, the reason for which the increase in fuel prices – the automotive gas began to cost 120 instead of 60 tenge per liter (the price rose from 10 to 20 rubles). The first board with Russian troops has already arrived in Almaty.
