Scientists suggested absence on Encelade of Ocean

Astronomers of the Dartmouth College in the United States suggested that in Encelade, Saturn’s satellite, in fact there is no ascent ocean. Instead, the source of the water vapor loop is pockets with melt water in the ice shell. This is reported by the Edition of Science News.

Researchers believe that pockets with melt water can concentrate salts and other connections, and then produce their contents into space in the form of a “geyser”. In this case, the analysis of the blood samples collected using an interplanetary station will not allow scientists to accurately determine its source. However, scientists emphasize that it is only an opportunity, and they do not refute the presence of the treated ocean and the potential existence of living organisms in it.

Earlier it was reported that the Cassini spacecraft, which flown through the giant water loop, erupting from the satellite surface, discovered a relatively high concentration of certain molecules corresponding to hydrothermal activity at the bottom of the earth’s oceans, in particular, dihydrogen, methane and carbon dioxide. It is shown that the observed picture is consistent either with the activities of living organisms, or with chemical processes that do not occur on Earth.
