The idea to ban financing of election campaigns due to the border, which is registered in the project of the new Constitution of Belarus, was dictated by the experience of previous years, the head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Igor Sergienko explained. His words lead RIA Novosti.
According to him, the events of the previous year, and the events of previous election campaigns indicate that attempts to finance the election campaign from abroad were undertaken by certain forces, the structures in Belarus engage in foreign funding. “And they pretty pregnant,” Sergienko said.
In late December, Belarusian citizens were allowed to make their own proposals for the draft new Constitution of the country. According to Sergienko, all the additions and ideas of Belarusians will be daily processed in the National Center for Legal Information.
The updated version of the Belarusian Constitution, which has yet to be taken, contains additional restrictions on the presidential term, as well as the provisions on the Great Patriotic War. Vote for or against the adoption of amendments to citizens of Belarus to be in the second half of February.
