Japan: came up with a vaccine from Covid-19 with lifelong efficiency

Specialists from the Tokyo Institute of Medical Sciences, led by Professor Mitinari Kohharoy work to create a vaccine from Coronavirus, giving lifelong immunity. It is reported by Japan Times.

The basis was taken by a vaccine against smallpox, which was developed in the XVIII century by the British physician Edward Jenner. Thanks to her, it was possible to overcome the deadly disease. The purpose of Japanese scientists to create a recombinant ospovakcin virus containing SARS-COV-2 spike protein.

As stated Kohara, drugs that use the vector of the rags virus, “are the most powerful of all.” According to him, the specified type of vaccine has small side effects, and does not need special methods for transportation and storage. In addition, the creation of a lifelong effect vaccine can give the world an advantage in combating COVID-19.

Mice experiments using a recombinant ospovakcin virus encoding bird flu genes showed high levels of antibodies that were preserved for more than 20 months. It is planned that the Japanese drug producer Nobelpharma will conduct the first and second phases of clinical trials of the Kohara vaccine in the first half of 2023.
