Japanese offered to fight insects with laser weapons

The Japanese offered to destroy insects using laser weapons managed by artificial intelligence, reports Nikkel Asia.

According to the authorities of Japan, up to 16 percent of food raw materials are lost due to pest insects, and global warming will create more favorable conditions for their reproduction, so they need to fight with them.

Developers from the Naro Research Association are planning to conduct field tests with laser installation in 2022: the stereoscopic chamber will notice them, and the artificial intelligence to predict the flight path and knock them down with a laser pulse. In the future, the installation is going to place on unmanned drones and send to the fields.

Trade harvested on adults of Asian Cotton Scoop or Corn List Scoop, they apply significant damage to Asia, Africa, Middle East and India. One laser installation per minute will destroy up to 300 insects. This will eliminate the use of harmful chemicals that lose efficiency and damage the environment.

Earlier, a member of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Margarita Kurakina warned Russians about the risk to come to prison for fighting cockroaches. According to her, criminal liability occurs if people suffered against insects of potent chemicals.
