Gas price in Europe installed a record 31 December

Gas price on the European Stock Exchange ICE has installed on December 31 records, dropping to the minimum value since November. This is evidenced by the site data.

At the time of publication of futures for the megawatt-hour gas with delivery in February cost 67.8 euros. Thus, a thousand cubic meters of gas cost 808.2 dollars. The decline in the last day was 22.3 percent.

In the autumn of 2021, Europe collided with a gas crisis. Because of the interruptions in the supply, low levels of completion of European storage and high demand due to low temperatures, the gas price sharply grew over several weeks.

At the peak, the price of thousands of cubic meters of gas exceeded 1,200 dollars. However, then quotes went on a decline, including due to redirection of tankers with liquefied natural gas (LNG), following Asia, to European ports.
