Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev President signed the law “On introducing amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on visual information and religious activities”, limiting the use of Russian in the field of servants. It is reported by Telegram-channel “Sputnik Kazakhstan”.
Signed by the Head of the Republic, the law makes changes to the work of the service sector. In particular, he obliges entrepreneurs to translate advertising, signs, price lists, price tag and menu to Kazakh language. The inscriptions in Russian can still be present there, but they will no longer be the nature of mandatory and become placed exclusively if necessary.
Previously, during a press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the position of the Russian language in Kazakhstan. He called the republic “Russian-speaking country” and thanked her guide for attentive attitude towards the language issue.
