The NGO Save The Children has indicated Tuesday that two of its employees had been killed on December 24 in an attack “committed by the Burmese military in the state of Kayah”, in the east of Burma. According to the Myanmar Witness observatory, “35 people, including children and women, were burned and killed by the military on December 24 in the canton of HPruso”.

The United States want an embargo. on weapons

A junta spokesman had admitted Saturday that clashes had erupted in this area Friday, and that the soldiers had killed a number of people, without giving more details.

After this massacre, the United States renewed their call to impose a weapons embargo for Burma.

Burma is prey to chaos since the February coup, and more than 1,300 people were killed as part of the suppression led by the armed forces, according to a local NGO.
