Moscow proposes to conclude an agreement on international Internet management regulation. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Syromolotov, RIA Novosti reports.

“Russia stands for the internationalization of the network of the Internet and the equal participation of states in this process, the preservation of the sovereign right of states to regulate the national segment of the Internet,” said Syromolotov. He stressed that the internet regulation agreement will be effectively only if all countries are accepted.

On November 16, at the Plenary Meeting of the State Duma, the head of the Committee on Safety and Countering Corruption Vasily Piscarev said that it is necessary to force foreign IT companies working in Russia to comply with Russian legislation. According to him, the Internet sites of the largest IT companies are not deleted, and even replicates illegal content.

Later, the head of the working group on the legislation in the field of Internet technologies and the digitalization of the Public Chamber of Russia, Vadim Vinogradov explained that the measures will be effective, as they influence the long-term financial profit of foreign IT companies.
