In Hong Kong, police stop six members of an information site

Three men and three women working or who worked for a website were arrested, and searches were conducted to their homes, announced the police.

Hong Kong Police announced, Wednesday, December 29, arrested six people working or having worked for an information site for “conspiracy to publish seditious material”.

The TVB TV channel reported that the six arrested people worked for the Stand News information site. A Reuters reporter saw at least four police vans in front of the offices of the website.

Searches

The police published a statement in which she clarified having arrested three men and three women, aged 34 to 73, and that searches were conducted to their homes.

Stand News said that one of the arrested people was his deputy editor, Ronson Chan, who is also President of the Hong Kong Journalists Association.

The Stand News website has broadcast a video in which the police will come to the home of Ronson Chan and produce an arrest warrant.
