VKS Russia received “Flying Radar”

The air-space forces (VKS) of Russia received the “Flying Radar” – an upgraded aviation complex of a long-range radar review and guidance A-50U, reports “Rostech”.

It is reported that the upgraded A-50U is equipped with new electronics and LCD monitors of large dimension and permission, as well as a modern aerobatic navigation complex.

“We continue to work on the modernization of military A-50 to the level of the A-50U. This is the seventh such complex, delivered to the troops. The next board is planning to pass in 2023,” said Vyacheslav Mikheev’s general director of the concern.

In May 2020, “Izvestia”, referring to the sources in the military-industrial complex, they reported that the CFC of Russia until the end of 2021 will receive two advanced aircraft A-50U. Works on each A-50U, conducted at the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex, were estimated at 600 million rubles.
