Chizhov explained role of European Union in future negotiations of Russia and NATO

The possible participation of the European Union in Russia’s negotiations with the United States and NATO would not have value added. This was stated by the permanent representative of Russia in the EU Vladimir Chizhov on the online briefing of the Foreign Ministry.

Postpred said he considers the participation of Brussels in future negotiations inappropriate. “[EU participation] does not have a certain value added,” said Chizhov.

Diplomat clarified that the EU is not a military unit, so the Russian side considers it appropriate to contact NATO and the United States directly. “The main content of our proposals is the issues of tough security. The question of the unavation of rockets of medium and smaller range – Does the European Union place them?” – said postpour.
