In Belarus, developed a certain scenario of the Action of the authorities in the event of the death of the country’s president. The appropriate plan is prepared in the draft amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic, published on the official website of the head of state.
So, in Article 88 of the document, it is proposed in the event of the death of the president as a result of the attempt, the terrorist attack, military aggression or other actions of a violent nature introduce an emergency or martial law, while government agencies will act according to the decisions of the Security Council.
In addition, the Speaker of the Republic will chair the Council of the Republic. Currently, the head of state, if he cannot fulfill his duties, replaces the prime minister.
Also, in the draft changes to the Constitution of Belarus, it is said that the President of the Republic may be in power for the maximum of two deadlines. The president can be a president who lives in the republic for at least 20 years immediately before the elections, as well as having no previously citizenship of another state, or a residence permit or other document of a foreign state, giving the right to benefits and other advantages abroad.
The draft change in the Constitution was published on Monday, December 27. The date of the referendum will be declared immediately after the discussion of the document.
