Putin spent a telephone conversation with new Chancellor of Germany

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the new German Chancellor by Olaf Scholts. This is reported on the website of the Kremlin.

In conversation, Putin informed the German Chancellor on the proposals of the Russian side of security guarantees, excluding the further promotion of NATO to the East and the placement of drum weapons in countries bordering Russia. Putin reminded the projects of contracts with the United States on measures to ensure the security of Russia and NATO member countries.

“It is hoped that serious negotiations will be organized for all the issues supplied by the Russian side,” the message is noted.

Putin also noted that Kiev still stubbornly evade the fulfillment of its obligations under the 2015 Minsk arrangements, and stated that it prevents the summit in the Norman format.

Putin congratulated Scholtsov with election to the post of Chancellor. The heads of both countries expressed interest in the further development of Russian-German ties and agreed to affect other topics of a bilateral agenda during further contacts. It was noted that Olaf Scholz, being the first Burgomistrome of Hamburg, has been engaged in matters of twin ties with St. Petersburg.
