At the end-of-year holiday approach, the government is on the stiff rope on the eHpad Front. He strives to reassure on the health situation and the freedom to come and go residents, without proscribing the possible interruption of visits. “I invite the directors to suspend visits and outings that exceptionally, proportional and temporary”, hammered Brigitte Bourguignon, Monday, December 20th. The Minister delegated to Autonomy recognizes that “in places, at present, residents can not receive visits, can not come out with the family or participate in festive events, which were canceled”. To family collectives that denounce the multiplication of “reconfinations”, it responds that establishments that take “disproportionate measures” are “marginal”.

The minister recalls that only 995 EHPAD residents were positively detected at CVIV-19 from 6 to 12 December, that 33 of them died, against “sometimes a thousand during the second wave”. More than 85% of residents received three doses of vaccine. The EHPAD therefore have an effective “vaccinal shield”.

The ministry has broadcast a two-page text to EHPAD for the end of year celebrations, which encourages the maintenance of family visits and exits, in the “strict respect of barrier gestures”. “More restrictive measures can only be taken at strict condition that the institution’s health situation is particularly degraded [the development of a cluster, at least three positive cases within the establishment for example] . “On 7,500 EHPAD, only 4%, or 300, were in a cluster situation on December 19th.

” Citizens in its own right “

However, the document published Monday completes the ministerial protocol of the month of August without modifying it. However, the text published this summer – still in effect – has led several regional health agencies (ARS) to suggest or endorse the suspension of visits. According to the August Protocol, the health situation “can lead management to put in place additional protection measures”.

Thus, on December 7, the ARS of the Hauts-de-France wrote to the directors of EHPAD to clarify them that they can “put in place supplementary protection measures until the cluster is considered As mastered. The limitation and / or supervision of visits may be part of these measures. ” Still in December, the ARS Center-Val de Loire has advocated some cluster victims of the interruption of visits, the stop entertainment, family trips or in the city, the meal in the room, in the meantime ” The sequencing of the virus “to verify that it was not the Omicron variant. In Occitania, some EHPADs also suspended visits to the Faith of the Ars.
