Lithuanian criminal world has connected to a crossing of illegal migrants to the territory of the European Union. Representatives of organized crime detained Lithuanian security forces when they tried to transport several illegal immigrants to the EU, the Vice-Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Agne, reported, reports “Lithuanian courier.”
“For the first time, citizens of Lithuania were detained who participated in the limit of illegal migrants. These individuals are connected with the world of organized crime,” said Tilty. The Vice Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told that the detainees tried to carry eight people to the EU.
Tilted believes that this case is “help” – a sign of the involvement of the criminal world in the transportation scheme of migrants. The criminals in such activities are attracted to high profits, the vice-minister is confident, and sooner or later they would necessarily connect to illegal transit of migrants.
The General Prosecutor General’s Office of Lithuania leads 32 pre-trial investigations into cases of illegal transportation of people. 38 people were already convicted, and 67 more persons were charged.
Previously reaching Germany, migrants from the Middle East told how they managed to cross the border of the EU and Belarus. According to them, the Belarusian border guards missed them in a neutral strip, and then they were able to get to the city in Poland by forests where they spent three days, hiding from Polish soldiers. In the city they were waiting for a car with a driver who took people to Germany.
