Tests of new hypersonic rocket in USA fail

New tests of the American Hypersonic Rocket AGM-183A on the ARRW (Air-Launched Rapid Rapid Response Weapon) failed. This was announced by the specialized portal The War Zone with reference to the US Air Force Representative.

Tests accelerator rocket passed on Thursday, December 16. The test rocket was to be launched from the B-52 strategic bomber. It was assumed that she was spoiled to a speed of five times the speed of sound. However, as the representative of the Air Force reported, “the sequence of starting operations was interrupted before separation [rocket] due to an unknown problem.”

According to him, the rocket will be returned to the manufacturer to immediately analyze telemetry and logging data. “The US military expects to resume flight tests as soon as possible,” he said.

As the portal notes, this is the third unsuccessful test of the AGM-183A rocket. The reasons for the occurrence of the experts have not yet found out.

Earlier it was reported that the United States will begin testing a new radar, which is capable of tracking both intercontinental ballistic rockets and hypersonic weapons. Its construction has already been completed, now, reported in the agency for missile defense, one can proceed to the test phase.
