So, in September, this figure was estimated at $ 3.918 billion, in August – 4.004 billion. In October 2021, 544 million in US currency accounted for long-term papers, for short-term – 3.1 billion.
In the spring of 2018, Russia began to sharply reduce investments in the US public debt. In April of the specified year, the volume was 96 billion dollars and decreased to the present. The main holder of state american papers was Japan, in second place China.
In November, the largest economy of the world, the United States, turned out to be on the verge of default due to the ceiling of the public debt. The head of the Ministry of Finance, Janet Yellen, called on the Congress to increase or freeze the limit of state debt by December 15, otherwise the risk of suspension of the government due to lack of funds and the impossibility of paying obligations.
