UK: non-existent companies received millions of dollars

Loans in the UK were given to non-suitable or new companies, loans were issued as coronavirus care. Only about 130 million pounds of sterling (almost 13 billion rubles) received dubious small businesses, Bloomberg writes.

Also, a loan in the amount of 4.7 million pounds was provided to a company founded only two days before receiving funds. Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, who oversees the issuance of emergency loans noted that “continues to stop fraud and will not tolerate those who are trying to deceive the British taxpayer.” Among the borrowers, the publication has discovered about 60 inactive companies.
