Biden to exclude sanctions against “Northern Flow-2”

US President Joe Bayiden decided to achieve in Congress to eliminate sanctions against the North Stream-2 gas pipeline (SP-2) from the defense budget of the United States. This is reported by Foreign Policy Edition.

According to the publication, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other high-ranking representatives of the Bayden administration last week were personally addressed to some American congressmen with a call to cancel the defense budget amendments that suggest sanctions against the companies participating in the project.

Edition notes that, in particular, in this way, the US administration is trying to prevent the introduction of sanctions against the companies involved in the project from Germany. Such a step “caused anger from the Republicans in Congress.”

Earlier in the US State Department threatened, it would continue to introduce new sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline “Northern Stream-2”.
