Roskosmos will conduct an ecocomonitoring of Volga

Roskosmos State Corporation As part of an environmental monitoring experiment, the Space Shot of the Volga River basin in the Yaroslavl Region, as well as to provide the decrypted remote sensing data of the Earth and analytics on its basis. The shooting will be held from January 1, 2022 to October 31, 2024.

Together with Roscosmos, the Ministry of Education will participate in the experiment, the Ministry of Industry, Rosprirodnadzor and on a voluntary basis – the Government of the Yaroslavl Region and the Company, carrying out economic and other activities using objects that have a negative environmental impact on which the systems of automatic control of polluting discharges are installed substances.

Remote sensing technology from space from space is an indispensable tool for learning and continuous monitoring of our planet. Today, the Russian orbital group consists of satellites of the series “Resource-P”, “Canopus-B”, “Meteor-M”, “Electro-L” and “Arctic-M”.

Developed by the Holding “Russian Space Systems” (included in the state corporation “Roskosmos”) Technologies and methods for using remote sensing data allow Roskosmos to offer unique solutions to ensure safety, enhance the efficiency of exploration and production of natural resources, the introduction of the latest practices in agriculture, prevention of emergency situations and minimize their effects, environmental protection and climate change control.

Earth remote sensing cosmic systems allow for a short time to obtain the necessary data from large areas (including hard-to-reach and dangerous sites). Reception, registration, processing, archiving, cataloging and dissemination of information from Russian and foreign satellites of remote sensing is carried out by the Scientific Center for Operational Monitoring of the Earth (enters Roscosmos).
