Britain to increase global military presence in world

Great Britain decided to increase the global military presence in the world and began the large-scale modernization of the land royal armed forces. This is reported by TASS with reference to a plan published by the Ministry of Defense.

In a document called “Soldier of the Future”, in particular, it is stated on the creation on the basis of the 16th Array Assault Brigade and the 1st Brigade of Army Aviation forces of the Global Response. They will be used both in the conduct of hostilities and in humanitarian operations. It is also noted that the main “terrestrial regional hubs” will be based in Germany, Kenya and Oman.

London intends to significantly increase and military spending. Instead of the initially planned 33 billion pounds (44 billion dollars), Britain will spend on armared ground forces to 41.3 billion pounds (55 billion dollars) during the current decade.

“Our army will act around the world, possessing a complete tool to combat a huge number of threats – from the cybersferes to conflicts on the battlefield,” said Ben Wallace Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

Also in the Ministry of Defense thought about the creation of a special purpose army team, which will resist violent extremist organizations and deal with threats from hostile states.

In early November, the British Parliament criticized the Ministry of Defense for an inefficient waste of taxpayers for decades. Parliament accused the ministry in the “dilution of money” and not fulfilling the program of supply of military equipment.
